Good insights as always. Public speaking is a challenge but one that can be perfected. Ted Talks are a great example as they are highly scripted. And this Ted Talk captures your points very well for how you can say nothing but say it really well.

It is very unusual for a top politician not to have charisma and be good at making speeches - thank you for breaking Obama's techniques down.

I remember being told President Kennedy's speech in 1961 about going to the moon was an excellent example of clear mission statement. He said the USA "should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out (timeline), of landing a man on the Moon (goal) and returning him safely to the Earth (clarifies the goal)."
