Ah, Yoga and pressups. Thanks for the reminder. I was doing a bit of Yoga each morning for preventative back maintenance, as it seems the cartilage in my spine is "wafer thin". (I will not share the YouTube link, IYKYK.) I would toss in some Hindu pushups and squats as well to make it more full body, but the summer heat broke that habit. Starting again tomorrow, I promise.

😂 Thank you. Hold on, off to do some stairway press-ups. BRB

I just banged out 20 stairway press-ups. Now, I will go unroll the yoga mat, which to my credit, I did place on my computer chair before going to bed on the 10th. However, I moved it aside on the morning of the 11th without putting it to use. It now sits on the chair at my secondary workstation, so I promise to follow up once I clear my Substack activity feed.

Thanks for holding me accountable.

I did break out the yoga mat and got in some basics for my lower back (cat, cow, etc.), and then some Hindu pushups as well. Thanks for the kickstart.

It's wonderful to hear about your fresh perspective on September and the positive changes you're embracing. Taking time to reflect and reassess your life is indeed a valuable practice. The key is to follow your heart and intuition while also considering your long-term career objectives. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck and fulfillment in your journey ahead. It's clear that you're approaching this decision with thoughtfulness and insight.

Interestingly, we're finally adding a yoga program at one of the martial arts gyms I own. I think we're going to see a lot of useful recovery, and maybe even some increased flexibility among students.

For strength, I like to do 10 chin-ups a few times a week (in addition to my jiu jitsu training, which provides a lot more cardio than strength). I'm not sure if that's useful info, but it has worked well for me!

Yes definitely. I think if you can build in these different attributes to an activity that you love you’re much more likely to keep them going.

I’ve also found liking the habit of press ups to the moment I get back from a run or get out the shower I am much more likely to remember to do them. Pairing can help a lot.

Absolutely! It's all about making everything into a routine, so it's automatic. No thinking required!

I hate to say it, but the AI-generated photos are a real turnoff

Thanks for the feedback Tom.

I’ve spent the last few weeks playing with MidJourney which has been fun. I love to try out these new tools to see what all the fuss is about. I’ve been including a few of them to jazz up my posts as a break from using Unsplash. For the posts it means I can get a picture that really reflects the feeling that I want to portray in the text.

Thanks for your reply. It’s a tough one, isn’t it? I like playing with new tech tools as well, but I’m increasingly coming to the position that using AI is in some way dehumanizing and that I’d prefer human-generated context with less polish than highly-polished AI-assisted content.
